Your Next Level Coach

No matter if you’re a shining star or a rising star, leading with or without authority, pursuing a new opportunity or mastering your current role, you need help navigating the highs and lows of your career journey. We can’t wait to walk alongside you!

Are you ready to go to the next level?

Go to school, get a good job, work hard, and surely, you’ll get promoted, right? Wrong. Whether you were taught this intentionally or unintentionally, it’s not 100% accurate. Managing your career is so much more than having a degree and being a high performing SME. You’ll have to work smart, manage your brand, network, and build a village to help you go to the next level. That means working-on-your-career while simultaneously working-in-your-career.

Do you understand the unwritten rules?

You work hard and you’re great at what you do. But you know there’s something missing. The problem is … you don’t know what you don’t know. Our specialized programs for women in industries like STEM, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical sales will help you identify the unspoken, unwritten rules that are holding you back. You don’t have to journey alone or learn everything trial-by-fire. The right strategies to navigate the unknown will give your confidence a boost.

Are you an "ONLY"?

Being the “Only Woman in the Room” can be lonely and exhausting. You feel misunderstood because no one can relate to you. It seems every word you say is magnified, dissected, and challenged to the fullest. When you speak your mind, they say you’re “too much”. If you don’t say anything in meetings, they say you need to “speak up”. With each promotion, it gets harder to manage the perceptions. You need tactful strategies to communicate your thoughts.

About KL Moore, MBA

No matter if you're a rising star or a shining star, KL Moore, MBA helps women, BIPOC professionals, and emerging to mid-level leaders transition to the next level. As a former electrical engineer in the manufacturing and agricultural biotech industry, KL was taught to “go to school, get a good job, work really hard, and surely you’ll get promoted”.

Life’s experiences taught her otherwise. Although working smart and going above and beyond were essential to success, there were other leadership skills she couldn’t afford to overlook. Ultimately, true career success required navigating the unwritten rules of the workplace. And “the rules” typically weren’t taught in school or found in a college textbook.

Now, as an executive coach and speaker, KL is passionate about feeding the C-Suite pipeline with women and BIPOC leaders who are equipped for success. Her programs are custom-designed for high-performing leaders who want to go beyond what traditional leadership courses offer.

KL has taught leadership communication skills throughout the United States. Her company, KL Image Group, specializes in corporate training, speaking, and coaching. Clients love her honesty and frankness while her audience finds her passion contagious. Known for addressing elephant-in-the-room topics that others avoid, KL inspires her clients to lead with confidence in any situation!

Here's What Others Are Saying About KL

“What an honor to share the platform with you last Saturday. Your message is so complementary to my own. I felt your unique way of saying it really got the attention of the audience – and mine too! ”

Lois P. Frankel, Ph.D., author of Nice Girls Don’t Get the Corner Office

"You've made a huge impact on our organization! The training program you did on Best Communication Practices for our staff was an all-time favorite.  It was extremely practical & everyone raved about the techniques you gave them to use."

Flavio M., MPA, Human Resources Analyst at Santa Monica College

"The assertiveness and public speaking coaching with KL was a game changer! Working remotely during COVID had its pros and cons. One of my biggest challenges was communicating with confidence on Zoom calls because most people didn’t share their camera. Without the body language and seeing their faces, it was hard to be assertive and feel confident. Her public speaking tips helped me organize my thoughts better and speak with clarity and directness when I lead meetings. She gave me real techniques that I’ve been able to use to eliminate filler words. And I don’t have to worry if somebody’s going to ask me a question that I don’t have an answer to in my presentation. I know how to handle it.

With the assertiveness coaching, KL connected the dots to the origins of my communication style. Now, I’m able to flex my default style to my boss’ style and she showed me how to “manage up” so that I can take back control of my career! I definitely got some solid tools to help me go to the next level in my career."

Karen D., Business Analyst at Oracle Corp

"Thank you for all the great information! There was a recent conflict situation that occurred and both of us were actually in KL’s assertiveness workshop. This helped me to not point the finger. I learned that I don’t always have to be the one to be so aggressive in the situation. She answered questions that I had in my mind without me even asking."

Claudia V., Santa Monica College

"KL gave relevant tips for building confidence from within & maintaining presence in tough situations. If you're confident in how you look & how you talk to people, then you're generally going to present yourself a different way & be able to move further in your career."

Lynsey Y., Business Mgr. at CDC Development Company

"I had the opportunity to hear you speak at a different conference before this one. Some of the most important things that I learned from you was the impact of how you look and the psychological influence on others, the colors you choose, how you define yourself through what you wear, how you carry yourself through what you wear, whether it's what you have on underneath what you have on outside or both. I learned so much! So, over time, I completely changed the way that I dressed.

Then, I began to notice how I changed … how my clothes changed the way in which I spoke and interacted with others. What I had on affected how people responded to me or not responded to me. I noticed how if I didn't like what I had on and the way that I carried myself that day, I couldn't wait to take it off. But, when I did like the color or what I had on, I had a little pep in my step. What a difference it made in my enthusiasm and charisma! So, I loved your presentation! I like the fact that you are what you do because you always dress and carry yourself and speak a certain way. I really appreciate the fact that you taught me what you did and I've tried to share it with as many people as possible. Thank you, KL!"

Christie H., Attendee at The Women’s Career Conference of Pasadena

"I thought I knew it all, but there were so many tips so important for me that I had no idea I was missing.  It was very educating & she's a good resource for women in business to present themselves better."

Anyel G., Senior Mgr. of Marketing & Communications at Kitchen Fair

"I’m not very assertive and I don’t have the kind of presence that I would like to develop. As I’m progressing in my career, I found this session very useful … the tips resonated with me. These are things I’m going to work through. Overall, the presentation was a lot of fun and very informative!"

Shruthi P., Attendee at The Women’s Career Conference of Pasadena

"I just attended this wonderful presentation on assertiveness in leadership, and KL was fabulous! Her great use of examples by storytelling through visuals and photos was awesome. And, I walked away with a lot of information that will help me in my growth as a leader."

Jonaura W., EEO Officer at Metropolitan Water District of Southern California

"What I really enjoyed was the enthusiasm that was brought to the seminar. It was encouraging! We got to see various perspectives of how we can apply the assertiveness ideas at work. We can even apply them in our family life. We can apply them in general. As a female manager in maintenance operations, I feel it's very important to know the importance of attire, overall attitude and walking with confidence … exuding confidence. And, I really feel that this class benefited all of the participants. So, I'm encouraged to go to the next step!"

Mary M., Maintenance Operations Manager at LA METRO

"KL gave a great presentation! She opened up my eyes to a lot of things … the way you stand, the way you speak, and the part about colors was huge for me!"

Daisy M., Attendee at The Women’s Career Conference of Pasadena

"One of the biggest things I learned was how to make the transition from being in uniform all the time to professional business attire. The way she broke down each separate category of business attire from casual to business appropriate … that was perfect! Now I have a better understanding of what's appropriate in different circumstances and situations … loved it! In uniform, I'm perfect with my creases and all the details. But outside of uniform, I still need to make that same impact where I'm put together. I also learned more about assertive language and how you represent yourself in ways that you speak. Your tone and the different ways that you talk was crucial."

Attendee at Women Leaders in Law Enforcement (WLLE) Symposium

"I actually got a lot of information that I have never thought about, like having a tailor for your attire and the assertiveness part. Right now, I’m growing in my career path. So, learning new posture (body language) and other things that empower you will make you stronger. This all makes you a better candidate for a position!"

Amy F., Attendee at The Women’s Career Conference of Pasadena

"My biggest takeaway was that KL gave us our power back! Only “I” have the ability to project the image that I want people to take away. I have the power to dress appropriately and to use the correct words, to give more meaning to my personal power. People see us as police whether we're in our uniform or in our personal clothes. So, when we show up for work functions, especially at events that the public attends, image matters. I am responsible for my own image 100% . If I show up confident and well-dressed on and off the job, then I am entitled to whatever good comes out of that."

Selena G., Attendee at Women Leaders in Law Enforcement (WLLE) Symposium
